Second Tier Digital Frame Makers Slashing Prices

According to DigiTimes, second-tier Taiwanese digital photo frame manufacturers are cutting prices by as much as 30% to deal with an over-supply of frames. It remains to be seen if the same happens in the US, but generally, unless budget is your number one concern, these brands are best avoided anyway.
Dragged down by a sluggish global economy, global sales of digital photo frames are worse than expected so far this year. The average retail price of mainstream 7-inch digital photo frames stood at NT$2,500-3,000 in the third quarter this year, but with TFT LCD panel prices dropping, white box players started to cut prices in the 7-inch segment to adjust their inventory level. Prices have now dropped to below NT$2,000 and the price for low-end analog models has dropped to below NT$1,700, the market sources explained.
