The HANNspree SD7021 is a 7″ budget frame that is entirely about being low-cost. You won’t find many features here and the frame cuts costs further by using a low resolution display. But a 7″ frame with a retail of $40 might be appealing enough to some.

FrameChannel has been busy, as they continue to bolster their content offering for Internet-enabled digital picture frames. They’ve recently launched seven soccer league channels, more financial news, and a channel dedicated to those quirky facts found on the lids of Snapple. They’ve also expanded their Spanish language offerings.

Samsung has refreshed their line of digital picture frames, with two 8″ models (SPF-85H, SPF-85V) and two 10.2″ models (SPF-105P, SPF-105V). One of each size comes with wireless, and they each offer a somewhat unique feature set, including things like auto shutoff, high resolution displays and a function to serve as a secondary computer monitor.
Sony DPF-D80 & DPF-D100 Announced - 8″ & 10.2″ Digital Frames

Sony has announced two new digital photo frames. The Sony DPF-D80 is a 8″ frame, while the DPF-D100 is 10.2″. Thankfully, both are 4:3 aspect ratio, moving away from Sony’s current lineup which is exclusively 16:9 widescreen.

Sure, it’s a bit of a stretch to call Panasonic’s latest foray into excessively large plasma displays a digital picture frame, but Panasonic lists the picture frame as a feature, so who are we to judge? The Viera TH-103PZ800 is a Japan-only release right now, but that’s probably not the only thing stopping you from buying one. The $50,000 price tag may be a second reason.

Kodak to Release 7.6″ OLED Digital Picture Frame

Reports are circulating that Kodak has agreed to purchase 7.6″ OLED panels for a new high-end digital picture frame. At this point it’s far to early to speculate on a potential release date or cost, but for Kodak to commit to this type of high-end display indicates that they’re serious about differentiating in a market that’s largely full of also-rans.
