The HP df300 fills a spot in the recently popular portable digital picture frame market. The 3.5” frame comes with a leather carrying case and a battery that gives you about 2 hours of usage to show off your pictures. Even though the main feature is portability, this little frame can surely find a spot on a desk or nook about the house and is priced well for gift giving.

FrameChannel is often the free service bundled with Internet-enabled digital picture frames to display free content like news stories, stock quotes and the like. While it’s free, we’ve never been very big on the service because the management interface is not very good and it laced with advertisements. It appears that the advertisements may be picking up as FrameChannel tries to leverage the “4th screen” in your home.

According to DigiTimes, second-tier Taiwanese digital photo frame manufacturers are cutting prices by as much as 30% to deal with an over-supply of frames. It remains to be seen if the same happens in the US, but generally, unless budget is your number one concern, these brands are best avoided anyway.

Sony has already announced their new frames, the D80 and D100, but today at PhotoPlus they’ve decided to announce them again, this time with pricing and a pushed back release date. The 8″ DPF0D80 will retail for $180 and the 10.2″ DPF-D100 will retail for $280.
Ipevo Kaleido R7 Digital Frame Announced

Ipevo has announced their first digital picture frame, the Kaleido R7. Kaleido is as much about design as anything else, notice the pivoting frame and high-gloss finish. Ipevo is working on function too though by using touch controls on the front of the frame and integrating Wi-Fi which will connect to media servers or online services like Flickr.
Kodak’s New Wireless Frames Now Shipping

After a few delays, Kodak has started shipping their two new wireless digital picture frames, the EasyShare W820 and W1020. They are 8″ ad 10″ respectively and offer 512MB of internal storage and integrated Wi-Fi. While delays are never good, there is a silver lining for consumers; the retail prices are a touch lower than first announced.
