Review: GiiNii Artforme 7 inch Digital Picture Frame

Written on Jan 18, 2010 by Malcolm Reynolds and filed under Featured, GiiNii, Reviews

One of the side effects to reviewing many different digital picture frames is that I start to expect more and more from a typical picture frame. The latest digital media frames handle photos, video, music, and stream content via Wi-Fi. That’s why I was amazed to see the affordable GiiNii ArtForme Digital Picture Frame (model GN-705W) keeps things surprisingly simple. This picture frame is just a picture frame … nothing more and nothing less.

Review: Aequitas Technologies iGala

Written on Jan 26, 2009 by MKowalski and filed under Aequitas Technologies, Reviews

Never heard of Aequitas Technologies? Until my review sample of the iGala – a brand new 8″ digital picture frame with Wi-Fi, a touch screen, and a few other unique widgets and gizmos – showed up a few weeks back, I hadn’t either. “Aequitas,” name of the Virginia-based parent company behind the iGala, comes from the Latin word for “justice.” We’re not sure what that means in the context of digital picture frames, but Aequitas’s ability to get noticed in a crowded market full of manufacturers you’ve never heard of by offering features like a touch screen and slick internet integrations makes them seem like a company worth checking out.

Review: Sony DPF-D80

Written on Dec 5, 2008 by MKowalski and filed under Reviews, Sony

Stop in at your nearest electronics store this holiday season, browse through their selection of digital picture frames, and you may notice something interesting. Nearly every frame manufacturer wants to talk up all the stuff their latest frames can do besides display images. From video playback to web content on the latest devices, it’s almost as if the idea of a digital picture frame as a place to centralize your snapshots has become a secondary concern.

Review: Kodak EasyShare W820 Digital Picture Frame

Written on Nov 24, 2008 by MKowalski and filed under Kodak, Reviews

Until not so long ago, if you had asked most people what Kodak made they probably would have told you “film.” In a market as full of newcomers as imaging is, Kodak is an old hand.
