HP has announced their first Wi-Fi enabled digital picture frame at CES, dubbed Smart Wi-Fi Display. In addition to Wi-Fi the HP sd828a1 features support for Internet Radio listening and can show pictures from online sources as well as receive them via MMS.

The Image Moments 6 digital photo frame from Digital Foci is one of three in the Image Moments family. In addition to the Image Moments 6, which is incidentally a 5.7” display, Digital Foci offers an 8” and 15” model (due out 2009). The IM6 includes a few unique features, including most notably a very high pixel density for a frame this size, along with a classic design that’s being pitched for the executive desktop.

Kodak is giving the world a first look at the actual hardware of its premium OLED photo frame during the Photokina imaging trade show going on in Germany this week. The Kodak OLED Wireless Frame features Wi-Fi with the ability to auto-source files from the web, multimedia capabilities, and a touch interface, but its most impressive spec is its 7.6 inch, 800×480 display using OLED technology.

The Smartparts SP8PRT is an interesting combination of printer and digital picture frame. Not intended to replace serious photo printers, this model is geared toward the occasional one-off print. GiiNii is relatively new on the digital frame scene, but they’ve already managed distribution with Walmart, Walgreens and other retailers. Their latest frame is an 8” ultra-thin model that is stylish and even looks great from the back. GiiNii has all the basics and adds in goodies like smart sleep mode, speakers, movie playback and an integrated light sensor to adjust brightness based on room conditions.

The DPF-V900 is Sony’s top of the line digital picture frame. The 9″ frame offers a vibrant display you’d expect from a Sony, with enough integrated memory to hold 1,000 pictures. While at $250 you might expect wireless, which you don’t get, Sony did add an HDMI port, which lets you display your pictures on an HDTV.

It’s not always about a large display panel and tons of features. For many, selecting a digital picture frame is a function of cost. Nextar appeals to this market with the N3-505, a 3.5″ digital frame with a bright 320×240 pixel display and 32MB of on-board memory, good for 50 images.
Review: Sony DPF-D70 7″ Digital Photo Frame

Sony offers a trio of digital picture frames; the DPF-D70 is a 7” “entry-level” frame. Entry-level for Sony at least, for most others it would be top of the line. Sony didn’t exactly pack the D70 with features, but a tremendous display and reasonable on-board memory make it an instant favorite in the 7” size.
