HP sd828a1 8″ Wi-Fi Digital Frame Announced

HP has announced their first Wi-Fi enabled digital picture frame at CES, dubbed Smart Wi-Fi Display. In addition to Wi-Fi the HP sd828a1 features support for Internet Radio listening and can show pictures from online sources as well as receive them via MMS.

Ipevo Kaleido R7 Digital Frame Announced

Ipevo has announced their first digital picture frame, the Kaleido R7. Kaleido is as much about design as anything else, notice the pivoting frame and high-gloss finish. Ipevo is working on function too though by using touch controls on the front of the frame and integrating Wi-Fi which will connect to media servers or online services like Flickr.

Kodak’s New Wireless Frames Now Shipping

After a few delays, Kodak has started shipping their two new wireless digital picture frames, the EasyShare W820 and W1020. They are 8″ ad 10″ respectively and offer 512MB of internal storage and integrated Wi-Fi. While delays are never good, there is a silver lining for consumers; the retail prices are a touch lower than first announced.

T-Mobile to Release “Cameo” - GPRS Enabled Digital Picture Frame

T-Mobile is said to be close to releasing a digital picture frame they’re calling Cameo. The highlight is the fact that it includes a SIM card and can receive data over the T-Mobile network. For $100 you can buy the frame and for another $10/month, you can send pictures directly to the frame from your mobile phone.

Fujifilm Working on 3D Digital Frame

Fujifilm has unveiled plans for an entire photography system that includes a digital camera and digital picture frame that can shoot and display images in 3D, without the need for light filtering glasses. The technology was on display at Photokina and Fujifilm claims it will be market ready in 2009.
