Motorola Announces Family of Digital Frames for the UK

Motorola has announced five new digital picture frames for the UK market, the highlight being the LS1000W. The 10.4″ frame features WiFi, 800×600 pixel resolution and content services from FrameChannel. But that’s about it and with only 512MB of internal memory, the LS1000W looks like an under-performer for the £199.99 ($330) retail price.
It doesn’t get much better from there. The rest of the series seems to be terribly over-priced, even when compared to our weak dollar. The LS700, a basic 7″ frame with low resolution would set you back over $80. The comparable option in the US would set you back perhaps a third of that price. I don’t know what’s going on in the UK, but there must be better options.
