$250 for a measly 800 x 480 resolution? I don't care how fancy the interface is - at a ratio like that, companies like HP (and numerous others) will continue to prolong the slow adoption of wireless frames.

Given how exorbitantly wireless frames have been priced, it's conceivable that netbooks will become cheaper than them in the near future; and, being more versatile, will lure away a significant chunk of prospective buyers.

I'm one of those guys, probably like you Brian, that really likes gadgets. For me tinkering with them is part of their fun. But I just can help but wonder that if something like this will be seen as "overkill" or too complex for the average person. When you consider what a laptop can do, a cell phone can do, will the typical consumer want to fiddle with, set up and manage another gadget this complex? Just wondering out loud.

Is the resolution on the 13" 1280x800 or 1024x800. Both are mentioned in the review.

This is really nice but the calendar let me down. I would have bought this if the calendar is a full feature (add/delete event).

Please help me figure out if the HP DreamScreens can do the following. I'm looking for a photo frame that automatically turns on and starts displaying what ever pictures are stored on my computer.

I know the DreamScreen is capable of displaying (streaming) pictures from any computer with Windows Media Player 11, but what I don't know is if it will enter this mode automatically.

I don't want a photo frame that requires I go through a menu every time to display pictures on my computer. I want one that will automatically boot and start randomly streaming/displaying all of my pictures, no user interaction required. Will the new DreamScreens do this?

Thanks the great initial review and any other details you can offer.

I wish it supported RSS feeds.. maybe it will in the future.
The article doesn't say anything about power-savings modes or motion sensor but I hope it has something that turns it off during the days..
