Sony Ericsson IDP-100 7″ Digital Photo Frame Announced

Written on Sep 9, 2008 by Brian and filed under News, Sony Ericsson

Sony Ericsson has announce the IDP-100, their first entry into the digital picture frame market. The IDP-100 features a 7″ display and Bluetooth, along with digital image correction software.

As Sony Ericsson is best known in Europe as a mobile phone manufacturer, their PR blitz around the IDP-100 centers on compatibility with their high-end camera phones. That’s probably the reason for the grey paint color as well, it’s said to blend well with the C905 Cyber-shot phone.

Other than the built-in Bluetooth module that will enable wireless transfer of images from phones and other Bluetooth devices to the frame, Sony Ericsson hasn’t done much here to be terribly interesting. The frame is supposed to be released 4Q 2008 in selected markets at a currently non-disclosed price.

Sony Ericsson IDP-100 Specs

  • 800×480 pixels
  • 400:1 contrast ratio
  • Auto-rotation
  • Built-in Bluetooth
  • M2 Memory Stick, Secure Digital and USB compatible
  • 128MB internal memory
  • Active touch control on the frame
  • World clock – three time zones
