Conexant Acquires Sigmatel Digital Picture Frames

From a press release:

Conexant will also acquire Freescale’s SigmaTel digital photo frame product lines, which allow users to view and share photos from traditional digital cameras, camera phones, and photo-sharing Web sites on high-resolution LCD displays. SigmaTel’s multimedia applications processor technology will be excluded from the acquisition.

IDLDPL YES DPF900 Released

In India, IDLDPL has released a 9″ digital picture frame called the DPF900. The widesceen unit features an MP3 player, stereo speakers and a totally unimpressive 8MB of internal memory. All this for roughly $230. Although it looks nice, it’s probably a good thing that it’s not coming to the US.

JOBO PDJ152 Released

Keeping with the International theme, Jobo has released a Euro-only 15″ frame, the PDJ152. Jobo is at least offering a decent display resolution of 1024×800. They’ve also included 1GB RAM, a wall mount kit, remote control and three interchangeable faceplates. Other than the very large display, there’s not a lot that’s terribly exciting here, including the covered price of $500.
